Baku and Katerini complete the 2026 Beach Wrestling World Series calendar
Following the previously announced events in Da Nang, Vietnam, Poreč, Croatia, and Batumi, Georgia, the series now expands to two additional iconic wrestling nations, further strengthening the global footprint of the tour.
Stop four takes the World Series to Baku, Azerbaijan, (August 28-29) for the very first time. A country that has been part of the Beach Wrestling journey since its earliest days, Azerbaijan has produced numerous world champions, including the sport’s only four-time back-to-back World Series champion. The event will be staged at the impressive Sea Breeze Resort, bringing elite beach wrestling action to a passionate and knowledgeable local audience on home sands.
The grand finale will unfold in Katerini, Greece, (September 26-27) a proven World Series destination that now steps into a new role as host of the 2026 Beach Wrestling World Championships for the very first time. Taking place at the end of September, as the European summer draws to a close, the decisive event will feature two days of competition across eight weight categories — four men’s and four women’s — with world titles and crucial World Series points on the line. With four times the points of a regular stop available, the season’s ultimate champions will be crowned on the sands of Katerini.
With five diverse stops across Asia and Europe, the 2026 Beach Wrestling World Series promises a truly global journey — from new horizons to historic wrestling heartlands — as athletes battle across continents in pursuit of world titles and season glory.
