The Beach Wrestling World Series heads into uncharted territory for the third tournament of 2025, and the excitement is palpable.

On 6 and 7 September, Casablanca, Morocco becomes the beating heart of the sport as the World Series lands on African sand for the very first time.

Not just a first for Morocco, this leg marks the debut of the Beach Wrestling World Series on the African continent, a significant milestone that signals the sport’s continued global growth. And it's arriving in style. The beach in Casablanca will provide a dramatic setting for what is already shaping up to be the biggest and boldest stop of the season so far.

A total of 80 athletes has so far been confirmed, the largest turnout of 2025, with competitors from Europe, North and South America, and, for the first time, a major African contingent. Thirty of the 80 wrestlers hail from seven different African federations, with Congo, Kenya, Libya, and Namibia all making their World Series debuts. Host nation Morocco leads the continental charge with 11 athletes, matching Ukraine’s presence, while the USA brings a strong nine-wrestler squad to the sand.

For Morocco, this is more than just a competition. It’s a showcase. A new stop, a new beach, and a home crowd cheering on their national athletes as they aim to make an impression against some of the sport’s biggest names.

And they’ll need to be at their best. The line-up is stacked with Beach Wrestling World Series regulars from across Europe and the United States, proven champions and hungry contenders all looking to tighten their grip on the title race heading into the final stretch of the season.

From established powerhouses like Ukraine and the USA to rising African nations stepping into the sandy circle for the first time, Casablanca will be a melting pot of talent, tradition, and raw ambition. The beach has never looked more competitive.

A historic host. A global field. A season high number of competitors.
All eyes now turn to Morocco as the Beach Wrestling World Series prepares to make history.
